The first question

Do you want pain relief, or do you want correction?

It is the question Dr. Foudy asks every new patient, and he asks it gently. In his words: “If you want temporary relief, you're going to get temporary results. If you want long-term release, you're going to get correction.”

Relief quiets the alarm. Correction finds the cause. “Your spine is like your circuit breakers. We're going to see where you might have some circuit breakers out of alignment.” An adjustment pops the breaker back in, and the care after it keeps the signal flowing.

Can he help you? Almost always, yes. Unless it is a fracture or a tumor — and he will tell you so

What hurts? Say it the way you would say it to him.

Dr. Foudy has heard each of these thousands of times, and each one has a findable cause.

Your first visit

One unhurried visit. Three slow breaths.

No rushed intake, no mystery. The first visit is show and tell. He measures, he shows you what he found, and you decide together. The scan looks at the software. The X-rays look at the hardware.

Postural assessment on dual scales at Foudy Chiropractic
Breath one

Assess

He measures before he touches. Posture and weight bearing on dual scales, range of motion with a protractor, reflexes, then a surface EMG. “We're going to do an EKG of your nervous system.” Digital X-rays finish the picture.

Chiropractic adjustment on the treatment table
Breath two

Adjust

Precise hands-on work, head to toe, after the open-room modalities have warmed everything up. Six techniques, from Diversified to Thompson drop table to the Activator method, matched to your body rather than the other way around.

Assisted stretching in the stretch lab at Foudy Chiropractic
Breath three

Rebuild

Care does not end at the table. Corrective exercise and the stretch lab teach your body to hold its new alignment, the way a retainer holds straightened teeth after the braces come off.

What a first visit involves

A first visit at Foudy Chiropractic in Mission Viejo takes about an hour and includes postural analysis on dual scales, measured range of motion, neurological and reflex testing, a surface EMG nervous-system scan, and digital X-rays when indicated. You return for a Report of Findings where the diagnosis, the timeline, and the cost are explained against your own images before any long-term care begins.

What we treat

Find your problem, then find the cause.

Each of these pages explains what is actually going on, how this office finds it, and what care looks like — in plain language.

Dr. Michael Foudy, D.C., in his Mission Viejo practice
Olympic years, ocean mornings

Eight years with the U.S. Women's National Team. Thirty-seven in Mission Viejo.

From 1996 to 2004, Dr. Foudy served as the official chiropractor to the U.S. Women's Olympic and World Cup Soccer teams, through the gold medal run. In 1999 the Chiropractic Leadership Alliance named him Chiropractor of the Year.

Then he brought all of it back to one quiet office on Marguerite Parkway. He is 63, raised in south Orange County, and the ocean is still part of the week. He surfs, he golfs, he hikes — and some of his patients arrive by word of mouth from the lineup itself.

“I love what I do, and I'm not going to stop.” Dr. Michael Foudy, D.C.

Straight answers

Questions people ask before they call

Can Dr. Foudy help me?

Almost always, yes. In his own words: “Anybody has low back pain, I'm going to help them. Unless it's a massive tumor or a fracture.” Those rare cases belong in an emergency room or with a specialist, and he will tell you so at the first visit rather than starting care that will not work.

What actually happens on the first visit?

He measures before he touches. Posture and weight-bearing on dual scales, range of motion with a protractor, reflexes, a surface EMG nervous-system scan, and digital X-rays when indicated. Then you come back for a Report of Findings where the diagnosis, timeline, and cost are laid out against your own images. Dr. Foudy calls it show and tell. Bring your spouse. Ask anything.

How long will care take?

Adjustment visits run about 30 to 45 minutes. Most care plans start at two to three visits a week, then taper as your spine learns to hold the progress. Spinal decompression courses typically run six to eight weeks. Your exact plan comes from your own exam and X-rays, never from a template.

How much does it cost?

An adjustment visit is $90 and includes every modality plus the adjustment itself. Massage and stretch lab sessions are $90 an hour or $55 for the half hour. Spinal decompression plans are personal and are discussed in person after your exam. Most patients pay cash, and Carmen can verify your insurance before you come in — call (949) 365-0403.

Where is the office and when is it open?

28892 Marguerite Pkwy #150, Mission Viejo, CA 92692. Open mornings most days: Monday and Wednesday 7:30–11:30 am and 3:00–6:00 pm, Tuesday 8:30–11:30 am, Friday 7:30–11:30 am. Thursday is afternoons only, 3:00–6:00 pm. Closed weekends.

Do you take insurance?

Most patients pay cash, which keeps the pricing simple and stated up front. Carmen Garcia manages the office and can verify your coverage before your first visit — call (949) 365-0403.
